Enter His Rest

I absolutely love my quiet time with God each morning, and I’m hesitant to share, because it is so personal. But, I believe the message God has for me is for all of us struggling with this new, hopefully temporary, reality, and I feel like someone else can benefit. So, this is based off my journal entry this morning. Monday, March 16, 2020 A new week, but unlike any we’ve experienced, as our nation works in a reduced capacity with schools closed, airline flights reduced, Hollywood filming paused. God, please heal our nation, but more than that, protect the minds… Continue reading

Our Farmhouse Remodel Master Bedroom

Our Farmhouse Master Bedroom Remodel

I’m finally ready to share a few stories and pictures of our farmhouse remodel master bedroom project, because there is finally something to show for all the work we’ve put in! Let me tell you, buying an almost 7,000 foot home that is severely dated on almost 15 acres of land is not for the faint of heart! We have had a good experience so far, for the most part, with only a few snags (!), but only because we are managing expectations (i.e., keeping them LOW for the time being at least!) We are doing some of the work ourselves but we have used set aside funds to be able to hire people to do some things.  You can look at a previous post to see more of the “before!” Continue reading

Resolution 2020: Rest in Him

rest in Him

As we start a new year and a new decade, have you set your 2020 resolutions and goals? Straight from my quiet time, I want to share with you what’s on my mind, and maybe you can relate. God wants us to rest in Him as we go through each day. “God, help me find my worth in you and NOT in me or the things I do.” This is my prayer, and God answers with Psalm 138:8: “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.” Rest in Him From that, I pray that if this is on your heart,… Continue reading

Jesus the True Friend

Do you have a true friend who ALWAYS knows the best thing to say, who is always listening, who in fact waits for you daily for you to come to him so that he can love you?  Who knows you better than you know yourself, and not only that, knows the future for you and everyone else in your little part of the world?   I just had one of these days in this farmhouse remodel that has me discouraged and wondering if we are on the right path.  Ever had one of those days?  It’s really been fairly smooth… Continue reading

What’s Happening with Our Farmhouse Remodel 1.5 Weeks In

We closed on the farmhouse last Monday, and if you are reading about our farmhouse remodel for the first time, you may want to read here first. Even though some are tiring of the farmhouse style, I love it simply for practical, functional reasons. We are buying this property for our friends and family to enjoy and live in well, and that means casual, comfortable, and inviting. See older posts about farmhouse decor and farmhouse wreaths at these Mom’s Priority links. Specifically, we want to enjoy the outdoors and the land most, so the interior, while important and necessary initially,… Continue reading

Our Farmhouse Remodel- Demo Day!

Everyone loves a good remodel, right? Since friends have been asking for details and pictures, and Mom’s Priority promotes décor items, I am going to do my best to share details on here.  We have just purchased a 1985 farmhouse and are excited to share with you the transformation! Remodeling stories go much deeper than the surface, though. So, I must tell you that this is an answer to many years of prayer. Just the fact that we could financially be able to stay in our current home while we remodel this “new” home (to us) is absolutely mind-blowing to… Continue reading

Best Clear Bags for Game Day

Can you feel the excitement as football season comes near? Whether you are watching the game on the big screen with friends, or in the stadium of your alma mater, football games are a treasured weekend tradition in the south especially. Make sure you are ready with the best clear bags for game day! The dress code varies from school to school, but in the Southeastern Conference you can count on women to wear sundresses, boots, stylish sunglasses, and a tote to carry the essentials. In 2017 amid safety concerns, clear bag guidelines were established between the NFL and the… Continue reading
